Vinnie Van Go Go's Pizza - Savannah City Market

Vinnie Van Go Go's or  "Vinnies" for short is a hip, trendy, grundgy, quirky New York style pizzeria at the corner of Bryan and Montgomery Streets in Savannah's City Market.  

Vinnie's has long been a favorite hang out of locals, SCAD students and visitors to Savannah for years. Mostly outdoor seating and sometimes you might have to wait a while to be seated but the pizza is great and the beer is cold.

If you live downtown or are staying at one of the hotels or Inns in the downtown area they offer free delivery on bicycle. Oh, by the way....... they ONLY TAKE CASH!

The Mansion on Forsyth Park

One of my favorite Savannah Hotels is The Mansion on Forsyth Park. Right across the street from Savannah's 20 acre plus Forsyth Park, a gathering place of locals and visitors this AAA four diamond award winning hotel is in one of the most beautiful spots in Savannah.

Set in a restored 1888 Victorian Mansion, this luxury property boasts 126 guest suites, an art gallery, the Poseidon Spa, 24 hour fitness center, great food and more. Stop by the Casimir's lounge and sip a martini from the rooftop marble patio while taking in the sights of Forsyth Park.

Sweet Potatoes Restaurant - A Savannah Favorite!

One of my favorite restaurants in Savannah for lunch has got to be a place called Sweet Potatoes Kitchen.  I like to take my clients there from time to time because they always love the food and the price is right.

A favorite of locals, Sweet Potatoes restaurant features a healthy update to more traditional southern favorites as well as dishes with a Caribbean flair like Jamaican Jerk chicken salad and Jamaican jerk pork.  Entrees average about 7 dollars a plate and come with a choice of two side dishes and a bisquit. You've gotta try the peach glazed BBQ chicken or the sliced pork loin.  Side dishes include anything from lemon collard greens and black eyed peas to of course the sweet potato of the day. 

I love the liver and onions.... a frequent special!
